American to Fight Twitter over Social Media Ban

A white nationalist is taking Twitter to court for banning his account with the social networking service.

The case comes at the same time when social networks are trying to stop hateful and abusive content without appearing to block unpopular opinions.

Jared Taylor launched the case Tuesday in California, at a state court in San Francisco. The Associated Press (AP) described it as the latest legal action by right-wing groups and people banned from social media websites.

Donald Trump warned he could be BANNED from social networking giant Twitter

The hugely popular social media site, which sees around 6,000 messages posted every second, said it would close down Mr Trump’s account if he broke the site's rules.

The US company said that if his ‘tweets’ broke the terms and conditions of using the site then his account would be closed down.

A Twitter spokesperson said: “The Twitter Rules prohibit violent threats, harassment, hateful conduct, and multiple account abuse, and we will take action on accounts violating those policies.”
